On this page I will feature something new each week. It may be a therapy tool, such as a fidget that I like, a fellow blogger whose page I follow, a website with some good information on trich, a book or other trich related product, or trichotillomania related events. I hope this page will help you find tools and resources to further your success on your journey to battle trich!
This week I want to share http://trich.org/. TLC, or Tricholtillomania Learning Center. This is the website that first led me to the discovery of my disorder. TLC is kind of the “go to hub” of all information trich related. Their website features everything from research findings, pamphlets and information packages, free online seminars, and resources to manage and treat trich, as well as dermotillomania. Their mission is to “end the suffering caused by hair pulling disorder, skin picking disorder, and related body-focused repetitive behaviors.”
Around April trich.org holds their annual conference. At this conference they share research findings, hold classes/seminars on trich/derm management, and help to educate family members, children, teens and adults, with or without trichotillomania./dermotillomania. For more information and to register click the link above, (Annual TLC Conference). It is a weekend long event and you may choose to go one or all 3 days. If you register early you receive a discount on admission, you also receive a HUGE discount if you are a TLC member. Membership only costs 45$ per year and is definitely worth it.
There are many benefits to becoming a TLC member. First, TLC membership is considered a tax deductible donation. Your membership/donation helps fund research, the free expert led web seminars, the annual conference, and all other resources on the website. There are different levels of ranging from individual, physician, household, student and seniors.
I hope that this website will help you as much as it helped me! As always feel free to email me with any questions. Follow the links throughout this page to take you directly to the appropriate website pages.
